Hapkido is a Martial Art of Korean origin. Literally translated, means the way (do) of power (ki) and coordination (hap). The origins of Hapkido go back over 2000 years and today are the combination of two ancient arts known as Daito-Ryu Aiki Ju-Jitsu and Tae Kyon. Both these arts still exist but are now commonly known as Daito-Ryu and Taekwondo. This comprehensive Martial Art, emphasizes the essence of physical combat namely, Punching, Kicking, Joint-Locks, Throwing and Weapons.
